Monitoring segetal flora to assess the ecological value of fallows and flowering fields

Within the framework of a project seminar at the TU Dresden, botanical investigations were carried out in the ECO²SCAPE project area under the direction of Lisanne Hölting and Julian Wendler. In total, we studied plant occurrence in eight plots (5m*5m) each of four different agricultural and environmental climate measures: annual fallows (AL5a), perennial fallows (AL5b), perennial flowering fields (AL5c) and annual flowering fields (AL5d). The goal of the plant surveys is to determine the ecological value of the fields for biodiversity conservation in the agricultural landscape.
